Printing Methods

At SA Tee X we do a few different printing methods. We offer screen printing and direct to garment printing in San Antonio. All are not equal, however we make sure all are quality. Screen printing and direct to garment have their own unique benefits and we are ready to do either in-house.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is an excellent choice of printing method for durability and larger quantities. Orders over 100 are typically going to be suggested to be done using screen printing. Screen printing is as old as the t-shirt itself and we have been doing screen printing in San Antonio over 17+ years.

However, if you have a design that is going to require to be printed in full color or with a color count above 3-4, it will be more lucrative in cost terms (both for us and you) to go with Direct to Garment.

Direct to Garment

Direct to garment (DTG) is a super cool method of printing. It is basically like taking water-based screen printer ink and loading it into a giant printer (like the one on your desk, but zoomed in 1000%). This printer can print any graphic or photo onto a shirt and maintain high precision in detail. And because it prints it all in one go, you will only be charged for the prints per side of your items you order. This reduces costs for these specific items AND there are no minimums with this method of printing. We can do 1-off sample shirts or we can do way more. As far as we know, we are the only direct to garment printer in San Antonio.

SA Tee X

We are SA Tee X, a local printer located in Balcones Heights, TX…ironically, but Balcones Heights is located right in the middle of San Antonio, TX. And the abbreviation for San Antonio Texas is SATX. So we took that and combined it with what we do: print Tees…. The shortened, casual way to say T-Shirts…

One day while I was driving listening to the most disregarded album “Miley Cyrus and her Dead Pets”, the name came to me as if being struck by lightning- SA Tee X. San Antonio T-shirt printing. It all made sense.

I had been printing tees for over 17 years. I started in the spare bedroom of my Mother’s house. And 17 years later, I am in the spare office space of my Father’s office building. That’s just a coy way of saying I am now in a commercial space growing and legit, but sometimes it all just feels the same as when I started.
